Apostle Marquis Hairston is the founder and Senior Pastor of The City Church of Charlotte, NC and currently pursuing a M.Div at Wake Forest University School of Divinity in Winston Salem, NC. As an African American, Pentecostal faith leader and social advocate, he is passionate about being a voice crying out on behalf of underrepresented populations. He is intentional about using his position and influence to stand in the gap and act as a proxy for people of all races, creeds, faith traditions, and sexual or gender identities. He is a father to one son, and he endeavors to do his part to create a world where his son will not have to endure the societal struggles of our current time. He seeks to engage his administrative gifts, innate people skills, and love for communication in all its forms to represent those who need such a voice.
